We ♥ Carrie!

Carrie is our treatment coordinator, and she is one of the many reasons we are able to stay sane here at Steineker and Dillon! Carrie has worked in the dentistry field for over 13 years! She loves what she does and she hopes to continue working in the field for many years to come. A Daytona Beach native, Carrie and her husband moved to Montgomery in 2011 so her husband could take a position as an assistant baseball coach at Alabama State University. While she loves Montgomery, the beach will always be her home!

Carrie is a mother of 2…her son Jaxon (who just turned 1!) and her fur baby Cammie, a 6 year old beagle. Her family is her whole world, which is why one of her passions is leading an active and healthy lifestyle. When she’s not at work, she really loves to indulge in Mexican food (her favorite!) and travel to the beach..Fort Walton, to be specific. Her favorite tv show is New Girl and she hates mayo and mustard with a deep passion!

Carrie helps keep this office running smoothly and we love her for that! There is one specific Bible verse that helps motivate her everyday: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

Feature of the Month…David Belser!

Over the years, we have realized how truly awesome our patients are. Whether they are artists, entrepreneurs, or they are just doing something really cool, we want to tell the world about them. We will be doing a “Feature of the Month” to feature a patient and why we think they are really great!

This month, we are going back to our southern roots with David Belser and his company Four Oak Designs. David is from a family of lawyers and decided to stray from the path and take up woodworking. Since then, he has been gracing front porches from New Jersey to California with his handcrafted porch swings. We are thrilled to have such a talented young man as part of our dental family!

“I have known David and his family for over 30 years. He is a quality young man producing an outstanding product.” – Dr. Steineker

After experiencing the relaxation of a bed swing at a friend’s house, he decided to make his own. Soon after, he decided that other people should be able to experience the joy of bed swings and started to make and sale them from his shop in Pike Road, Alabama. Not only does he make bed swings, but he also makes tables and wood floors too!

Check out the article about him in the “Alabama Makers” section here: http://alabamanewscenter.com/2016/09/12/alabama-maker-four-oak-designs-swings-are-made-for-sleeping/
You can also view (and purchase!) your very own bed swing from his website here: https://www.fouroakdesigns.com/

MI Paste for Sensitive Teeth

Tooth sensitivity is absolutely no fun, and cavities, whitening, cleanings, and dental hygiene can make sensitivity even worse. At Steineker and Dillon, we use MI Paste to help relieve tooth sensitivity so our patients are comfortable both in the dentist chair and at home!

MI Paste uses Recaldent,  a special milk-derived protein that releases vital minerals into your mouth, to ease sensitivity. This water-based and sugar free paste is safe to use both at home and at the dentist. MI Paste does not irritate dry mouth conditions and the topical creme can be safely used several times a day!

To apply MI Paste, simply squeeze a small amount onto your finger and apply to tooth surfaces. Allow the paste to sit for 3 to 5 minutes before spitting out the remainder of the paste. Be careful not to rinse with water so you can allow the rest of the MI Paste to slowly dissolve on your teeth!
